Singapore might not do autumn leaves, but it does do Halloween — and for the first time, Jewel Changi Airport is joining in. Changi Experience Studio, the high-tech attraction on Level 4 of Jewel, is hosting its debut Halloween festival, Haunts & Handmade, over the weekend of 31 October to 1 November 2026, running 10am to 8pm both days.

The format is simple: the studio becomes a spooky-but-gentle marketplace with more than 35 local makers, food stalls, craft workshops and games. It's pitched squarely at families — no jump scares, just costumes and treats.

Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children or seniors, and that ticket covers all ten interactive zones, immersive shows and multiplayer games inside the studio. Adult tickets also come with $10 of event credits, which softens the price further.

The marketplace is the main draw. On the drinks side, expect two matcha specialists — Corner8 Matcha and Matcha Hour — pouring a Spooky Matcha Latte topped with hand-piped cream ghosts, plus coffee roasters Gettin Caffeinated and Elevation Roastery serving treats with names like Cookies & Scream Tiramisu. For food, Dapiku Sweets brings its Asian-influenced bakes, while Tirato offers alcohol-free tiramisu including pistachio and the viral Dubai Chewy Cookies.

On the retail side, the line-up leans handmade and local: Bearative's kawaii keychains and stickers, knotparfaits' in-house plushies designed around Singaporean icons (including a limited Halloween run of ghost puppies with trick-or-treat buckets and fluffy skeletons), ClikClak's 3D-printed fidget clickers, Kalpz Beauty Kitchen's natural skincare, The Little Potter's ceramics, and oh!petite's sustainable linen kidswear. Artist Lovewithin.sg will be drawing live portraits with a Halloween twist.

Kids get plenty to do beyond shopping. There are three workshops — a DIY Boo-tanical plant craft, pumpkin trick-or-treat bag decorating, and Spooky Beads Crafts using hama beads. Readers of The Smart Local can flash the article for one free entry to the beads workshop. There's also a Haunt & Hunt Stamp Quest with a mystery prize worth up to $29.90, and a daily best-dressed costume prize worth $100. Airport-exclusive plush keychains Captain Boo and Pompkin the Explorer make for souvenirs.

Why care? Even if you're only transiting through Changi, Jewel is one of the world's most talked-about airport destinations, and this gives travellers passing through late October a genuinely fun, indoor reason to linger — rain-proof, kid-proof and just steps from the shops and the Rain Vortex. Tickets are limited, so booking ahead is wise if your trip lines up with the weekend.
