Oman is getting its first taste of Nikki Beach. The brand known for white daybeds, DJ sets and beachfront indulgence will open Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Muscat in 2027, on Yiti Bay, roughly a 30-minute drive from Muscat's airport.

The project was first announced back in 2023 and will bring together a hotel, a collection of private residences and one of the brand's signature beach clubs, with views over the marina, gardens and beach. First-time visitors to Oman might be surprised how close this feels to the Gulf's established luxury circuit — Muscat is a short hop from Dubai, and the drive out to Yiti Bay along the coast is part of the appeal.

The hotel side will have 140 rooms and suites spread across two wings, plus 30 villas. Options run from one-bedroom beach, marina and pool villas up to two-bedroom pool villas and the three-bedroom Ultimate Villas, so there's a route in for couples, groups of friends and families alike.

The F&B and leisure line-up reads like a typical Nikki Beach playbook: the see-and-be-seen beach club mixing music, dining, entertainment and art; Cafe Nikki for relaxed daytime eating; Escape for toes-in-the-sand beachfront dinners; and a Lobby Lounge for coffee, drinks and everything in between. Guests also get three swimming pools, a swim-up bar, direct marina access, the brand's Nikki Spa for treatments, and The Reef Children's Club, a dedicated kids' area — a sign this is pitched as much at families as at the pool-party crowd.

It's part of a wider push. Alongside the original Dubai resort and beach club, Nikki Beach has a Ras Al Khaimah resort and residences in the works, plus projects planned for Baku, Antigua and Marrakech. But Muscat is arguably the most interesting of the lot: Oman has long offered dramatic coastline, wadis and mountains without the density of its neighbours, and a brand like this landing there suggests the country's upmarket tourism push is accelerating.

For travellers, this is one to watch rather than book yet. If it opens on schedule in 2027, it slots neatly into a short-haul Gulf itinerary — pair a few days in Muscat with dolphin-watching at Musandam, a wadi day trip, or a night or two in the desert, and you've got a trip that mixes easy luxury with genuine scenery. Given the beach club and kids' club, expect the vibe to shift between lively weekend afternoons and calmer weekdays, so timing your visit could matter as much as your room category.

No opening rates have been announced, but with 140 keys and 30 villas the resort is sizeable enough that entry-level rooms should sit within reach of the broader five-star Gulf market, with the villas reserved for splurge territory.
