If your last Singapore stay involved the same old Marina Bay hotel, the city's hotel scene has quietly moved on. A cluster of new and rebranded properties has landed across 2025 and 2026, with more big names queued for 2027 and 2028 — enough to justify a staycation even if you've done the city before.

The budget-friendly end is surprisingly strong. Four Points by Sheraton Singapore opened in Jurong in July 2026 with 557 rooms from about S$190 a night, taking over the old Genting Hotel Jurong next to the Science Centre. Varel Singapore, opened April 2026 on the former Selegie Centre site, starts from S$238 and puts you within walking distance of Little India, Chinatown and Kampong Glam, with a rooftop pool and a Southeast Asian kitchen at Hathaway Autograph. The DoubleTree by Hilton Singapore Robertson Quay replaced the beloved Hotel Miramar in October 2026 — 344 rooms from S$196, 200 of them facing the Singapore River, plus a pool with cabanas and a Hilton Honours bonus-points offer for late-2026 stays.

Mid-range options lean characterful. Hotel Waterloo, a boutique spot on Waterloo Street that opened in January 2026, pairs heritage neighbours like the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho and Sri Krishnan temples with an AI concierge, from S$241. Frasers House in Bugis took over the old InterContinental in January 2026 with Peranakan-inspired design, four restaurants, two bars, and a Family Suite with bunk beds and a slide. It's dog-friendly too — up to two dogs, at a non-refundable S$250 pet fee. Mett Singapore, the rebranded Fort Canning Hotel, adds two padel courts, dog-friendly rooms and a vintage sidecar service, from about S$319-428 a night and just minutes from Orchard Road and Clarke Quay.

At the top end, NoMad Hotel arrives on Orchard Road in late 2026 with 173 rooms, 25 suites, an infinity pool and sky terrace, from S$516. Sentosa has gone full resort mode: Raffles Sentosa opened in March 2025 as Singapore's first all-villa resort from a hefty S$1,395 a night, while The Laurus — the island's first Luxury Collection property, on the old Hard Rock Hotel site — offers all-suite stays from around S$630 alongside 40-plus new shops and Pierre Hermé pastries at WEAVE. Grand Hyatt Singapore got a Grand Wing and a Michelin-starred restaurant in August 2025.

Looking further out: Habyt brings a heartlands hotel with Coney Island views to Punggol in 2027, Hotel Indigo Changi Airport adds a rooftop day club with runway views in 2028, and Aman Singapore will occupy suites in the city's tallest building, also in 2028.

Why it matters: whether you want a sub-S$200 river-view room, a dog-friendly Bugis base, or an all-villa splurge, the new crop spreads well beyond the usual downtown strip — and early bookings for the 2026 openings are already live.
