The first day of the month is when Bilt cardholders get their best deal, and 1 October 2026 brings some of the richest transfer offers we've seen this cycle. The headline act is a boosted transfer to Hilton Honors that scales with your Bilt tier — up to 200% extra at the top level — plus a smaller bonus for Amtrak Guest Rewards and a Hilton elite status challenge worth a look even if you never plan a big points transfer.
Hilton normally receives Bilt points at 1:1. This month's bonus ranges from 75% for Bilt Blue members up to 200% for Platinum with a buy-up, meaning 1,000 Bilt points can become as many as 3,000 Hilton points. The bonus applies to the first 100,000 Bilt points you move, in 1,000-point increments. You can spend Bilt Cash to bump yourself up one tier, though there's a wrinkle: some coverage lists the Hilton buy-up at $200 while Bilt's published October terms say $400, so check the figure shown in your own account before committing.
The author's advice — and it's sound — is not to transfer speculatively. Hilton has devalued its programme repeatedly without warning, so lock in a specific booking first and compare the cash rate. What may be the smarter play is the attached status offer. Any eligible Hilton transfer registers you for temporary status through 31 December 2026 plus a challenge: six qualifying nights turns Bilt Blue or Silver members into Hilton Gold, while Gold members and above can reach Diamond with 12 nights. Stays must be completed by 31 December 2026, and success extends your status through March 2028. If you've got Hilton stays on the calendar anyway, even a small token transfer could unlock a much better hotel year.
Amtrak's bonus is more modest. The standard 2:1 ratio (1,000 Bilt points to 500 Amtrak points) gets boosted between 25% and 125% depending on tier. At Platinum level that becomes an effective 1:1, and with the $400 buy-up, 100,000 Bilt points convert to 112,500 Amtrak points. Useful if you genuinely have a train trip planned, but as the source notes, the $400 tier buy-up probably isn't worth it for Amtrak alone.
The broader context matters too. Rent Day — the first of every month — doubles or quadruples everyday earning on Bilt cards (4x on the Palladium, 2x on the Blue and Obsidian), capped at 1,000 bonus points. And Bilt's transfer partner list is genuinely strong: United, Alaska, Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France/KLM, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Turkish, Emirates, Hyatt, IHG and more, with fast transfers that put Marriott Bonvoy to shame. Cards range from the no-fee Bilt Blue to the $95 Obsidian and $495 Palladium, and you don't need to be a renter to apply.
Transfers can't be reversed, and the offers run from midnight Eastern on 1 October to 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Have a redemption target in mind before you click the button.
