Etihad Airways flies the Airbus A350-1000 only — 12 of the type now, with 15 more on order — and uses it on some of its most demanding routes, from Abu Dhabi to New York-JFK, Sydney and Atlanta down to shorter hops like Delhi and Mumbai. If you're eyeing one of these flights, here's what a lie-flat seat will set you back in 2026.

Cash prices swing widely by route. The Atlanta run — Etihad's longest A350 route at 6,621 nautical miles — starts at about $4,700 one-way in business class, with JFK fares similar. Sydney typically tops $6,000. Seoul sits in the $4,300 to $5,800 band from Abu Dhabi, though the return leg from Seoul often drops under $2,000. Casablanca runs $2,000 to $2,800, Amsterdam around $3,500, Bangkok $2,000 to $3,000, and India is the bargain: Mumbai can dip below $1,000 one-way.

The seat itself is the Collins Aerospace Elevation — a reverse herringbone suite with a sliding door — arranged 44 across 11 rows, all with direct aisle access. Each is 21 inches wide, converts to a 79-inch bed, and gets an 18.5-inch HD screen plus USB-A, USB-C and wireless charging. There's no first class on this aircraft; economy is 327 Recaro CL3710 seats, nine-abreast, with 45 extra-legroom "Economy Space" rows up front.

For points travellers, Etihad Guest is distance-based with fixed award pricing — no dynamic spikes. A one-way business award on the Atlanta, JFK or Sydney routes costs 120,000 miles at Bronze tier, or 108,000 at top-tier Emerald. Shorter routes are cheaper: Delhi and Mumbai run from just 29,700 miles. Smarter options exist via partners, though: American Airlines AAdvantage charges roughly 70,000 miles one-way for Etihad between the US and the Middle East, and Flying Blue typically prices under 100,000. Air Canada Aeroplan starts at 90,000 but is dynamic and often higher. One catch — Etihad tends to hold partner award seats back until within about 30 days of departure.

Why does this matter? The A350 is a solid pick within Etihad's fleet, but it's worth knowing your aircraft. Newer 787-9s carry the slightly more advanced Collins Elements suite, while most 787s and all A380s have the older custom Business Studio. For a first flight with Etihad, the A350's door-equipped suites are among the better products in the airline's lineup — and on India routes, they occasionally cost less than a standard economy fare to Europe on other carriers.
