Fitness racers, mark your calendars. Tickets are now on sale for HYROX Dubai, which runs across two days — Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28 — at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Expo City Dubai. It follows a well-received edition in Abu Dhabi, and organisers are promising the biggest, loudest Dubai staging yet.
If you're new to HYROX, here's the pitch: it's often called the World Series of Fitness Racing. Launched in Hamburg in 2017, the format is identical at every event worldwide — eight 1km runs broken up by eight functional workout stations: SkiErg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Rowing, Farmers Carry, Sandbag Lunges and Wall Balls. That's 8km of running plus the stations, and because the course never changes, everyone from first-timers to pros competes on a single global leaderboard.
Competing? Athlete tickets start at Dhs544.81, with singles and doubles formats, plus Open and Pro divisions, and Relay teams for men, women or mixed groups. There's also a Flex Add-On and a cheaper Flex Lite option if you want the safety net of being able to pull out — skip it if you're certain you'll show up. Spectators pay Dhs70 per day per adult and per child over 12; kids under 12 enter free but must be registered, and under-16s need a paying adult with them.
Why should a traveller care? Dubai in late November is arguably at its best — the brutal summer heat has broken, and the city fills with outdoor events. HYROX doubles as a ready-made trip: sign up months ahead, build a training block, then tack on a beach or brunch weekend around the race. Expo City itself is the purpose-built site of Expo 2020, well connected on the Dubai Metro, so logistics are easy. And if racing 8km plus a thousand wall balls sounds like a stretch, a Dhs70 spectator ticket gets you ringside to one of the most energetic events on the Dubai calendar.
Tickets are available via hyrox.com. Whether you're chasing a personal best or just cheering from the sidelines, it's shaping up to be one of the fitness highlights of Dubai's winter season.
